Romantic or not, we’ve put together a handy list of things that we think you’ll love to do together.
Whether you're looking for food, somewhere to have fun or relax, click next to find the best things to do as a couple in Derby.
Eat
There are some great restaurants to visit as a couple.
Some of our favourites include the Joiner’s Arms, Cock Inn at Mugginton, or why not have something as simple as a ‘Cheeky Nandos’? Well, there are two to choose from: one on Iron Gate and one on Level 3 in the Derbion. There’s also the Love Derby ‘Best Restaurants in Derby‘ article if you need more ideas.
Cinema
Derby’s Odeon Luxe and Derby QUAD both provide seats that can be shared, hunt out the double seats in QUAD, or push up the arm rest in Odeon, simple.
Markeaton Park
Markeaton Park is a great place to walk as there is a smooth path that leads the whole way around. Also, there is the craft village to pop into to break up the journey, grab an ice cream, and sit in the Cafe.
Kedleston Hall
With its proximity to Derby City Centre, many great views, and the beautiful building, Kedleston Hall is a great spot for wandering.
It’s a little pricey to park up and venture in (£8pp to non-Trust members), so make sure you are ready to spend a few hours there to get your money’s worth.
There is also a café and National Trust shop on site if you fancy a bite to eat and a browse.
Arcade
This is one you may not think of, but it's a really fun way to spend a few hours (and a few quid!).
At Hollywood Bowl Derby in the Derbion, there is an arcade with plenty of fun rides, and you can use a handy top-up card.
Quick tip: If you want to earn yourself some serious tickets for prize exchange go on the Space Invaders shooter, great pay and pays gives out huge ticket returns.
Derby Museum
What could be more romantic than checking out the fossilised Ichthyosaur, wondering at the The Allenton Hippo or perusing the world’s largest collection of work by the 18th Century artist Joseph Wright of Derby at Derby Museum?
Treat your number #1 to a coffee and cake at the The Coffee House in the museum to round off your trip in style.
That’s all, folks!
We hope you have found our things to do in Derby for couples article useful.
