Serving a selection of real ales, typical pub grub and cheese board if it takes your fancy.

The Greyhound, situated on Friargate, has seen a revival in recent years after it was taken over by the Derby Brewing Company.

Inside it has been nicely decorated with a contemporary/traditional pub feel.

There is a fantastic beer garden which is a pleasant place to sit when the sun is shining. Each table is within reaching distance of a heater so the garden is just as nice to sit when the sun is shining.

There is live music on Saturday nights from 9pm till 11pm. The acts vary, but are always of a high standard and you will be tapping your feet before the night is out.

Comedy night is Thursday night and costs £8.50 a ticket.

Great food, no ambience

We'd heard the Greyhound had a new BBQ inspired menu so we had to try it. Upon entering we were shown to our table, and told we order everything on the App. But without menus it was difficult to really see everything that was on offer (also the app isn't great). The table we were placed at was in the main dining area at the back of the pub and just lacked that bit of a restaurant feel, I know the Greyhound is predominantly a pub but I feel this area probably needs some attention, as this was a meal for our 7 year anniversary and it didn't feel special. However, the food saved it. Mac 'n Cheese Burger had some of the best Mac 'n Cheese I've ever had and the chips were great. Would recommend going for the food, but not a date night.
