River Island is Derbion’s latest retailer to announce significant investment in the centre, with the brand set to relocate and increase its footprint by over 30%.

River Island is set to take on the new, 11,000sq ft space this summer, enabling the brand to offer a greater variety of fashion across womenswear, menswear and kids.

The new and improved store will be located on Level 2 next to Mango, with work due to start in May.

The announcement follows a string of investments from retailers such as The Body Shop, Toy Planet and Superdrug, who are all improving their existing units within the centre. New retailers including FLANNELS and Mango have also enjoyed success at Derbion since opening their doors and Jack Wills is set to arrive this later this year.

Adam Tamsett, general manager at Derbion, commented: “We’re thrilled that another of our retailers is showing real confidence in the centre by investing in a brand-new and much larger space at Derbion. River Island has always proven exceptionally popular with shoppers, so this expansion of the brand’s offer, coupled with a new and contemporary shop design is sure to delight visitors.

“We have lots of exciting plans for the centre this year and we look forward to announcing more news soon.”
