Thanks to the St Peters Quarter Business Improvement District (BID) and Pure Gym, a free event to celebrate World Mental Health Day will take place in Derby on Thursday, October 10.
The two organisations are teaming up to host free activities at St Peter’s Cross, near St Peter’s Church.
From 10 a.m., various fitness challenges will be held, including rowing, basketball, and assault bike activities. Free healthy checks will also be available, and participants can collect a goodie bag filled with protein shakes and protein bars.
The event aims to highlight the connection between physical and mental health and builds on the success of the recent collaboration between the two to mark National Fitness Day.
Personal trainers from Heanor, Kingsway, Derby City, and Derby Meteor Gyms will be on hand throughout the day to offer expert fitness advice. Gym members, local businesses, and the public are invited to participate in the activities and have fun.
Gemma Pindard, BID Project Executive for St Peters Quarter BID, said: “It is always exciting to bring the community together and celebrate something like World Mental Health Day.
“This event is a great way for people to try a few fitness challenges, have a bit of friendly competition, and we have some fantastic goodie bags to give away.” Don’t miss this chance to get active, have fun, and celebrate World Mental Health Day in Derby.
