Derby’s biggest street food specialist, Bustler Market, has now fully reopened after its recent relocation to The Chocolate Factory on Siddals Road at the end of last year.
Following the Government’s recent lifting of indoor leisure restrictions, last weekend marked the first opportunity excited locals had to see the new-look site, with almost 5,000 people flocking through Bustler Market’s doors over the course of the weekend.
With capacity to seat 1,500 people, the new hotspot features vinyl DJs, an arcade area, a milkshake bar, a cocktail bar and a wide selection of street food from across the globe. It will also soon have a unique portaloo photo booth and a karaoke room.
The opening weekend saw guests tucking into food from eight traders including, Kebab Cartel, Yard Birds and All Fired Up Pizza Co as well as enjoying craft beer and the brand-new cocktail and gin and tonic bar.
Since its launch in 2017, Bustler Market has gained a huge following of fans, regularly attracting over 3,000 visitors each weekend. Despite lockdown delaying the launch of the new site, spirits weren’t dampened as Bustler became the home of Derby’s biggest pub garden, welcoming just over 15,000 visitors since 12 April. Bustler Market has also played a part in providing support to the wider city through its recruitment of more than 50 new staff members from across the region to support its rapid growth.
“After having to delay our indoor opening due to COVID, this weekend’s launch felt extra special. We are thrilled to welcome visitors to Bustler’s new home, to enjoy a venue the team and myself have worked so hard to create.
“Over the past few weeks it’s been great to see visitors enjoying our beer garden, but we’re excited to now be able to give everyone the full Bustler experience. This site has been a real labour of love and it’s exciting to finally be able to welcome people back through the doors of what is a bigger and better Bustler.”
Bustler Market managing director, Olivia Pritchard
The current opening times are Thursday 5pm – 10pm, Friday 5pm – 11pm, Saturday 2pm – 11pm and Sunday 2 – 6pm. Entry costs £1, with free entry available for Derby County Football Club season ticket holders, NHS workers and students.
The new venue is complying with full government guidelines and is currently operating on a table-service only basis, seating groups of six or two households.
