The Kitchen is popular lunchery located on Sadler Gate where shabby chic meets country rustic.
It is located at the heart of Sadler Gate in Derby’s Cathedral Quarter.
The cheerful yellow and blue exterior complements this popular lunchery and its sunny disposition doesn’t stop there.
Once inside customers are greeted with comfortable, yet sturdy wooden tables and various ‘kitchenalia’, from past and present, virtually filling every nook and cranny.
At its centre is a traditional display cabinet filled with deserts, including a selection of colourful meringues. Staff are friendly, without being overbearing, and the menu is varied and unpretentious. The house platter, with its wide selection of cold meats, bread and condiments comes highly recommended.
Sandwiches are thick cut on your choice of bread and come with a good selection of fillings.
While it’s probably not the place to go to grab a quick cup of coffee, if you’re looking for a down to earth setting where you can indulge in a spot of lunch, then it doesn’t get much better than this.
